Spring Cleaning is here!
Ahhhh spring, the sun is shining, flowers are blooming, and pollen is coating everything. You know what that means; spring cleaning. Yup the worst part about this new warm season. Its time to pack away the pumpkins, Christmas trees, and snow flakes and bring out the florals! This personally is a lot of fun for me. But….. it also means its time to clean.
I don’t know about anyone else but when I pack up those winter decorations I find lots of dust, dog fur, and now pollen. What a fun reminder that its time for spring cleaning! (sarcasm)
While I dislike it I have to admit Spring is the perfect time to declutter, reorganize, and deep clean a home. Between switching out winter and spring decor, packing up sweaters and bringing out the swimsuits, and getting to work on curb appeal its just a perfect time to clean or change things up while your at it.
That being said it can be very overwhelming. So I like to break spring cleaning into Spring AND Summer cleaning! Realistically not everyone has a weekend or two to set aside to focus on cleaning. And who would want to? So each Spring and Summer month I have a list to complete. This list can be done anytime during the month, all at once or item by item as the days count down. This is a practical way to get little things done around the house even with a busy schedule.
So here is my list for April:
- Replace Air filters and clean vents
- Wash window, doors and porches
- Clean out and organize garage
- Use pressure washer or hose to wash off the outside of your home or cleans sidewalks and driveways
- Work on curb appeal (this could be getting the last leaves out of flower beds, planting new flowers, or just putting out a seasonal flag)
Every month I have a list like this. These lists have helped me stay on top of home projects and keeping my home refreshed for the season. Every month I will be posting my list here on our blog in the hopes that you too will find it helpful!
